Pack 55 wreath sale app
An ordering and inventory app for a scout pack's wreath fundraiser. Sellers take orders on a phone, and leaders see stock and sales as they happen.
- Role
- The whole team: product, engineering, and QA, built with Claude
- Stack
- React, JavaScript, Vercel, GitHub
- Status
- Built and deployed, ready for this season's sale
How a sale flows
-
Pick a channel
Scouts sell door to door. Church tables run quick checkout or presale orders.
-
Build the order
Tap products to fill the cart. Sold-out items lock on their own.
-
Check stock
Bundles count their parts, so a wreath with a bow uses one wreath and one bow.
-
Take the details
Customer information and notes, then cash, Zelle, or check.
-
Confirm the sale
A receipt screen shows the order and the seller.
-
Track to handoff
Orders move from open to fulfilled, then picked up or delivered.
An animated overview. No customer information is shown.
Why I built it
This sale is the pack's only source of funds for the year, and running it from spreadsheets and paper makes it hard to know what's left. Three things mattered most:
- Stock. With accurate inventory at all times, leaders can see a shortage coming and reorder before the pack runs out.
- Margin. A small batch of decorated wreaths earns the most per sale. If they sell out fast, leaders see it right away and can backfill quickly, which means more money for the pack.
- Staffing. Every sale is saved with the time it happened. That makes it possible to look at trends and see whether the church tables have the right number of volunteers at the right hours.
The sale hasn't started yet. Add results afterward: orders handled, stock problems caught, and what the sales times showed about staffing.
What it is
The pack sells wreaths, bows, and donations in three ways: scouts going door to door, a table sale at one church, and presale orders at another. Each way needs something slightly different, so the app changes what it asks for based on where the sale happens.
Presale orders collect customer details and sit behind a PIN. The quick-checkout table takes walk-up sales without that step.
What leaders see
- Stock levels with warnings when an item runs low.
- Printable order lists for each sales channel.
- A spreadsheet export of all sales, plus backups.
- Roster and access controls for sellers and church tables.
- The ability to add orders by hand.
How it's built
It's a single-page React app, bundled so no third-party scripts load. Orders are saved online so leaders can review and print them. I built it with Claude, and every change deploys from GitHub to Vercel.
I'm not linking the live site because it holds real customers' orders.
